Transforming nonprofit technology to improve and expand services for adults with developmental disabilities
For a leading digital design studio team of strategists, engineers, and designers based in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and beyond, super fast connectivity (both wireless and ethernet) was a non-negotiable when it came to upgrading their technology and upsizing their office space.
To help this digital design studio build out their new office space for a growing team, we set up a high-density network that would support their increasing bandwidth needs and eliminate bottlenecks for better overall connectivity.
The challenge
Solve digital capacity issues and improve network connectivity
As this design studio expanded, so did their IT infrastructure needs. After increasing the size of their floor plan and moving into a new office space, they began to notice significant capacity issues and bottlenecks within their existing network. They experienced issues like bandwidth limitations, degraded network connectivity, and complete network outages.
The goals
Invest in a network infrastructure that could grow with their team
With plans to continue scaling and even to double the size of their office in the coming months, they needed to invest in a network infrastructure that could work for them in the moment and grow with them to support their future bandwidth needs.
On their list of IT solution must-haves, the team identified the most important requirements as increased bandwidth, reliable internet anytime and anywhere, and enhanced security.
The solution
Install a high-density wireless network, protected by industry-leading security
The team needed a trusted local IT consultant and partner that could provide tailored business consulting and on-site IT setup and management in downtown Boston, and found us at Davin Tech Group, right in the Eastern Massachusetts area.
To address their IT challenges and meet their goals for a more reliable wireless network, we partnered with the leadership team to develop a customized infrastructure solution. First, we thoroughly evaluated the network environment and business operations. Then, after discussing the current and future needs for the business with company leaders, and gathering additional growth metrics and staff use cases, we came up with a comprehensive migration plan for their wireless network.
During the planning phase, our team met with the firm’s leadership team to design and develop a cost-effective solution that would meet all security, bandwidth, and network availability requirements.
The process
Deploy and migrate the network, and get the team online
The optimal configuration consisted of our team implementing two redundant high-speed internet connections, an industry leading security appliance, a gigabyte ethernet network, and a high-density wireless network to support their growing bandwidth needs.
To ensure a smooth transition into the new space, we deployed and migrated the firm ahead of their move-in date.
The outcome
Eliminated bottlenecks and seamless connectivity throughout the new space
Upon deployment, we confirmed that the new infrastructure eliminated all pre-existing connectivity issues and bottlenecks. The team now has seamless connectivity throughout their office space and the leadership team no longer has to worry about their business’ ongoing IT requirements.
