Enable seamless, HIPAA-compliant remote tech and manage security for both Mac and Windows users
A small disruptor within their industry, the company considers itself a “challenger” brand, from their technology to their business approach. This doesn’t come without its setbacks, though.
“You have to be very careful in how you conduct yourself and be astute to what you’re doing before you implement things,” shared Ron, Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to partnering with Davin Tech Group, the company was platform agnostic, with half of its staff on Apple and the other half running highly computational software on Windows. Using shared software across the two platforms required additional considerations — and an IT team confident in both types of hardware and software. What’s more, two thirds of the company’s workforce is remote, requiring cloud-based tech enablement.

Navigate security intricacies, rethink IT risk management, and protect patient data
Ron noted a lot of their work involves intellectual property, including the company’s recent clinical trial involving hundreds of patient enrollments. “It’s a data collection nightmare,“ he shared. “We have access to a lot of patient data.”
In an effort to gather data more quickly, improve patient outcomes, and improve their technology, the company is also conducting virtual clinical trials that they need to keep secure. The company creates its own virtual patient database to characterize a patient population, then utilizes simulation software to implant the device. “It opens up a door to a whole new way to do clinical trials and less invasive experimentation on people,” said Ron.
But this cutting-edge tech requires combining massive amounts of computing power. “Clusters of servers run these simulations that take hours to days to run. It’s super complex, computational, hardcore math,” said Ron.

The process
Deploy new acquisition software and provide additional IT support
As the company’s management service provider, we handled the deployment of new acquisition and tuning software, as well as high end CAD/CAM software, and built our own software and hardware and used the latest technology to do it. Our team is spread across multiple platforms, so we can provide Ron the support his team needs when implementing a new tool or assessing a threat.
